Virtual College Workshop

We are excited to offer you a two-part College Workshop.  BMC Seniors who would like to learn more about the college application process, while preparing for their own journey, are invited to sign-up for this two-part live virtual workshop. There is a small $10 fee to help offset the cost, as well as limited spots. Hope Murtaugh & Valerie Bynum of Murtaugh College Consulting will host the two online sessions that cover the following:

Day 1:  Tuesday, July 28 from 7:00 9:00PM

  • Building your college list
  • Importance of your resume
  • Getting organized for this process
  • Financial aid
  • Scholarship search options
  • Q & A

Day 2:  Tuesday, August 4 from 7:00 9:00PM

  • What are College Essays for, Anyway? (Relevance, who reads them, type of writing, what the essay should reflect about the writer)
  • SC Public Schools and Honors Colleges
  • Application Platforms (Common & Coalition)
  • Brainstorming Methods
  • Q & A
