BOD Candidates 2019

Keith McNeel

I have been married to my wife Tammy for 33 glorious years and we have two children who have benefited from their experiences at BMC. Our daughter, Kelsey, graduated in 2014 and is now an elementary school kindergarten teacher in Simpsonville and our son, Ryan, is a freshman at TriCounty Tech in the Bridge to Clemson program. Our whole family is passionate about BMC and support it in a variety of ways as often as we can. I have been in management with UPS for 31 years relocating my family twice in the process and have been in Greenville since April,2000. Since moving to Greenville county, I have also been involved in local community activities such as United Way, Upward Soccer, YMCA soccer and CESA. This involvement is due to my passion to see our children succeed in school and athletics because it makes for well-rounded future leaders within our community.

Why I would like to serve on the board:

I am currently finishing up my second term on the BMC board serving on the finance and principal evaluation sub-committees. As a parent and board member, I have seen Brashier from multiple perspectives and am a better person as a result. The dedication and commitment of the current and past board members have created a legacy that is Brashier Middle College. The lasting legacy of both the board and school leadership is the commitment to helping our students achieve their full potential and grow to become future leaders in the school and local communities where they live. I have seen firsthand how, under the leadership of our principle, his staff and the school board, our school has shown that although we are small we are leading the state with our academic successes and graduation rates. It is the commitment to excellence that drives board and school leaders to continue to strive to provide more opportunities for our students. I am honored to be a part of the community and family we call Brashier and I would love to continue to be a part of that leadership and serve a third term supporting the school and helping to provide direction and leadership over the next term.

I live to serve and am seeking a third term on Brashier's Board. As a mom of 3 Brashier products, a current Junior and two recent graduates, I believe what our school is offering students and their families, is an excellent educational opportunity in a safe environment. My husband and I moved to Simpsonville, from FL, in 1999 - we will celebrate 25 years of marriage this June. We are active members of Grace Church (Pelham campus). I serve as the Executive Director of a home-grown, local non-profit organization.; given its small size, it has been necessary for me to be knowledgeable in all aspects of running a business, including, but not limited to, fundraising, marketing, bookkeeping, event planning, graphic design, & community relations. These are skills I have been able to contribute to BMC's board in the last four years.

Why I would like to serve on the board:

As a current board member, I am invested in, and informed about, some critical decisions that will be made over the next year. It is my hope that you will re-elect me so that I can continue to serve you and your students through careful consideration in regards to these upcoming issues and in the way of fundraisers & parent/student information sessions.

I am a parent of a current 10th grader at Brashier. I also have a graduating senior who attended Brashier for two years prior to going to the Governors School for Science and Math. I also have a 7th grader and 5th grader who will likely attend Brashier in the future. I am the Chief Financial Officer of a construction company based in Pelzer, SC, as well as own a private CPA firm. I am the current Treasurer and head of the finance committee on the Brashier School Board.

Why I would like to serve on the board:

I would like to think that I can use my financial background to give back to the school that is educating my children. I am a firm believer in school choice, and that the charter schools give options to families that are not satisfied with the local public schools. I have served two years on the board, and for the past year as Treasurer and head of the finance committee and think that I can continue to make a positive impact on the board.
